The new owners of a historic building in downtown Circleville plan to restore it to its 1930s look.

Circleville. The new owners of the Zwicker Building in downtown Circleville spoke about their plans and redevelopment of the building at the Circleville Historical Review Committee meeting last night in the Circleville Council Chamber.
The building at 115 E. Main Street, Circleville was sold to Moody’s at auction in June for $160,000. Since then, they have been conducting research on the history of the building.
“We wanted to bring it back to the way it was in 1930,” Moody said at the meeting, “and we wanted to remove the existing wood on the front of the building, including replacing the façade trim with tall windows. historically it has been. We imagined how to open the entrance in the 1930s.”
Moody’s explained to Sciotopost that they found old photographs of the building from that period in order to restore it to its original state. At the meeting, they reported that they found the original glass above the shop window inside the building, which they hoped to return to its place. The only difference is how the glazing is installed. Historically this was done with a steel structure, this has now been replaced with aluminum. Plan to keep the windows taller rather than replacing them as they are original bubble glass.
Moody’s said it would renovate the first and second floors of the building for event space. It is possible to rent a place in the third later.
The board unanimously approved the certificate of suitability after hearing the plans for the Zwicker building.
